CHARACTER
This wine has a very, very luxurious nose; like the most decadent, soggy, liqueur-infused and downright delicious fruitcake you can imagine. Dark chocolate and semi-dried plums with a dusting of warm spice. Very warm and very inviting. And on the palate it's silky and velvety with wonderful intensity and depth. A seriously enjoyable and seriously luxurious wine. Don't be fooled by the inclusion of Merlot and Grenache in the blend this a big wine packed full of flavour.
The Merlot and Grenache comes from the Jones Vineyard just north of the town of Clare on your way to the racecourse. The vineyard sits on a low hill and is full of old and very low yielding vines. It always gives terrific depth of flavour.
The Shiraz comes from a vineyard high above Sevenhill and these vines always produce really characterful wines blended with Shiraz coming from Armagh, which does have a excellent reputation ;)
