About Us

Naturally Perfect, where creativity meets precision

Art & Science Collide

At Jeanneret we pay homage to the Golden Ratio and the Nautilus symbol that represents perfection throughout nature. The Golden Ratio was discovered by Pythagoras over 2500 years ago and popularised in the 1920s by our ancestor, the legendary architect and artist Le Corbusier (Charles Jeanneret). Our vineyards stand as a testament to his philosophy of balance, form and functionality.

Like the Polymaths Da Vinci and Le Corbusier, our wine-making process is a celebration of both creativity and precision. We craft our wine without cutting corners. Skin contact and time on lees create a textural tapestry. We entwine elegant French Oak with the bold American Oak. This carefully orchestrated union imparts a balance to our wines, reflecting the duality cherished by Le Corbusier in his architecture. The result is a sensory experience that transcends expectation.

Join us and embark on a journey where Le Corbusier's spirit permeates every vine, every bottle, and every tasting experience. Here, the collision of art and science creates wines that transcend the ordinary, offering a banquet for the senses. Uncover this harmony between creativity and precision.

Our History

Jeanneret Wines was established in 1992 by the Jeanneret family who were led heart first into the regions’ vineyards. Passion for making wine purely for their own enjoyment organically expanded into a livelihood and the Jeanneret cellar door was opened in October 1994.

Headed up by self-taught Winemaker, Ben Jeanneret, we produce generous wines full of flavour, best enjoyed amongst friends. Ben is regarded as one of the leading winemakers of Clare Valley. Ben was named one of the 'Ten Dark Horses' by Halliday earning Jeanneret the title of a Five Star Winery.

Jeanneret wines have evolved to include three tiers; Deco, Purist and Le-Corbusier inspired by the art deco architect. The label designs are based upon perfect proportions and harmonious colours displayed in Le Corbusier’s work. Like Le Corbusier, often regarded outside the family of being too serious, we believe a mischievous sense of fun adds to our creativity.

Our Vineyards

We have two vineyards located in the Armagh Valley of north-western Clare,
run with an organic philosophy to maintain the integrity of the vines.

For more than three decades, our 60 acres of low yielding and well-manicured vines have been producing Shiraz, Cabernet and Malbec. Beneath these vines is a combination of clay and sandy loam soils.

We also have long term relationships with local grape growers. Using grapes from the Southern end of Clare like; Leasingham, Auburn and Schobers can add depth and sophistication to the mighty Armagh juice from our own vineyard. We’ve been through thick and thin together and are still going strong.

However, our wines aren't over blended to banality, each vintage is different reflecting the needs of the fruit to express itself in a unique way.

Our Winery

Our winery and CVBC Brewery are onsite behind the Cellar Door at our home in Sevenhill. We make all our wines here and wine for quite a few others too. Ben, Harry and Sarah believe that good wine takes time, whether it's time on lees for our Rieslings or time in oak for our famously robust reds. Many other wine brands contract out much of there manufacturing, at Jeanneret we grow the grapes, ferment, mature, blend and bottle our wines ourselves, we drink them too.

Our Team

Ben Jeanneret

Owner and Head Winemaker

Ben is the heart and soul of Jeanneret. Making wine is what he’s most passionate about and it’s pretty fortunate that he’s also very good at it. Ben is the ultimate freestyler, unrestrained by rules and unafraid of attempting the new and different.

Harry Dickinson

Winemaker

A London based lawyer in a former life, Harry saw sense and followed his passion for wine all the way to the Clare Valley. Harry has spent the best part of a decade perfecting his winemaking craft for Jeanneret.

Sarah Mould

Assistant Winemaker

Sarah joined the team at the end of 2017 preparing for a big 2018 vintage and we haven’t looked back. Sarah’s hard work and dedication all year round is evident and is an invaluable member of the team.

Dianne Klingberg

The Oracle

The backbone of Jeanneret, Dianne has been with us for 10 wonderful years. She keeps this business of ours running like a well-oiled machine. We’d be lost without Dianne and probably wouldn’t be able to find anything.

Grady Stanley

Cellar Door Manager

Grady is a familiar face of Jeanneret. Splitting her time between the office and the cellar door, Grady knows Jeanneret Wines like the back of her hand. A visit to Jeanneret is made all the more special thanks to Grady.
