When you start charging $40 for a Riesling it would want to be good, because some of Australia’s finest come cheaper. But I must admit this is a lovely wine with a big and bold personality. The flavours are tightly woven . . . lemon, apricot, lime and apple citrus. This is Jeanneret’s Reserve riesling and if the price is offputting, their Big Fine Girl riesling is $19 and still very good. Doozie by name, doozie by nature.

OAKEY DOKEY

The Oakey Dokey is a full flavoured Chardonnay, but at the same time has a degree of restraint, epitomised by the relatively delicate yellow/green colour.
